Hello Family & Friends!
This coming July 14-19th, God has given me the amazing opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of Ecuador. For several years, Harvest Ministry has been partnering with the long-term missionary, Gonzalo Quimbiulco, who has been faithfully serving the people of Ecuador specifically in the Amazon. I will be serving alongside 10 other Harvest members to support Gonzalo’s ministry with anything he may need. We are preparing to provide ministries such as leading worship services, Vacation Bible School, family photography, dental services, and vision services (yay!).
This is an exciting opportunity for me since it has been about 11 years since my last (and first ever) overseas missions trip to Guatemala while I was in high school. It was during that trip that God first showed me His heart for missions and the lost. On top of that, while deciding whether or not to pursue a career in Optometry during college, the final deciding factor was that it could be used in the missions field so I’m all the more excited that I get the privilege to steward the gifts that God has blessed me with to help others see better my first year out of Optometry school.
With that, the most important work begins now with prayer! Please pray with, and for us!
Some specific prayer requests are:
- The people of Ecuador to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and become disciples to share the Good News
- God to continue to empower, equip, and encourage Gonzalo Quimbiulco and his ministry, as well as all of the churches in Ecuador
- Team unity and safety before and throughout the trip
- Our hearts to be humbled and completely surrendered before God so that we may be His hands and feet
