Dear Friends and family,
My name is Christopher Lee and I am a 4th year student at the University of Central Florida. My goal is to become a dentist so I will be applying to dental schools this summer. I am writing to you because I believe I have been called to go to a mission trip this summer to Ecuador. The trip will be from July 16-25.
Some of you may know that almost 3 years ago, a member of our church went to Ecuador to serve the people, but was called to heaven in the middle of the trip. Ever since then, his passing has hit our church pretty hard, but at the same time it strengthened us as a whole. I wanted to follow his footsteps but just couldn’t because of school. I usually made up excuses not to go because I have to study and take classes for dental school. Despite having to take a summer class and take the DAT (Dental Assessment Test) this summer, I have told myself that I will to go a mission trip this year.
While I am in Ecuador with my team, we will engage with the locals there by doing children’s ministry, leading multiple worship services in the Amazon area, and hosting several block parties (a little social where we play with the children and engage with the adults) within the communities we will be in. We will also serve the people in various ways, by providing free dental work, eye checkups, physical labor, etc.
I, as well as the rest of our team, will require a lot of prayer. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers daily. I could also use some help raising some funds to going to Ecuador, for it will not be a cheap trip. I need to raise approximately 1,300 dollars. We are the Korean Presbyterian Church of Orlando, where we are an inter-generational, house church-driven congregation that wants to make a difference in our world. I believe that I have been transformed by Jesus through this church. I want to answer the call that Jesus said to his people, to tell the world about him. And who am I to ignore a call like that to the God who saved me from myself. So I thank you for your time to read this and support me through prayer or finances.
