Hello! This is Alex Pak. I am currently studying Psychology at the University of Central Florida and to be completely honest, I’m not exactly certain what career field I’d like to enter with this degree. But rest assured, I am positive that God has something fantastic planned for me! Anyways, the purpose of this letter is to inform you about a mission trip to Ecuador I will be attending with my church, Korean Presbyterian Church of Orlando, from July 23rd to August 3rd.
Now, some of you may be curious to why I’m going on this trip. Basically, I felt God has been placing a conviction in my heart to go on missions for many years. But as time passed by, I would repeatedly create reasons not to go. However, last summer a team from my church went on a mission trip to Ecuador. And it was on this trip, where a dear friend of mine, Joshua “Tico” Kim, went home to be with the Lord. While it was a heavy loss for us, I believe that my friend is finally with our Heavenly Father, smiling and singing. And through his life and testimony, Tico has been able to impact people everywhere including the people of Ecuador, whom our church was able to build a strong relationship with. Compelled by Tico’s story and the love of Christ, I have made a commitment to go to Ecuador this summer.
To give you an idea of what we’ll be doing on this trip, we will be reaching villages in Sinangue and the towns of Lumbaqui and Cabeno. In these areas, we will be serving through building projects, children’s ministry, dental and medical work, tae kwon do demonstrations and much more.

I truly believe that through the power of prayer, incredible things can happen.
