Dear Family and Friends,
Hi, my name is James Ye and I am going on a summer mission trip
to Ecuador with my church. This
will be my fifth trip to the country that God has called me to
serve and I’m writing to you because I
need partners to share with me the honor of serving the people of
this country.
This summer for the second time our church Harvest and the Korean
speaking congregation, Vision,
will be sending a joint team to Ecuador. This will be one of our
largest groups, filled with many different
age groups and backgrounds but united in the calling that God has
placed in our hearts.
We will be serving again in the towns of Lumbaqui, Cabeno, and
the native indian village of Sinangue.
In Lumbaqui, we will continue to encourage the local church that
serves 13 other churches in that
region. We will conduct summer vacation Bible school, medical
missions, and teach Tae Kwon Do.
In Cabeno, we will try to finish building the local church that
was started last year as well as the
other things I mentioned before. Finally in Sinangue, we will try
to foster a deeper relationship with the
native indian people that was started in the summer of 2009 and
worship with them in the church
we helped to build in the last 3 years.
This year we will have a new ministry opportunity called the
Joshua Project. This ministry was born
out of our loss of Joshua Kim, a member of Harvest. Joshua gave
his live while serving in missions last summer in Ecuador.
From their loss, his parents and brother have created a ministry
to honor their son. The Joshua Project
is a ministry where we give goats to the local people in the
towns and villages that we will visit. The goats
will produce milk which can be consumed or sold to help make
money. Our team will help build
pens, and help Joshua’s father, a veterinarian, care for the
goats. God has also provided a young Ecuadorean
who has been leading this type ministry already and we will be
partnering with him to
reach remote towns.
As our team meets every Sunday to pray and to plan this summer’s
mission trip, we are reminded
that God calls some to go and some to support missions. I believe
God has placed you in my life to
share with me the work He is doing in Ecuador. I’m asking you
partner with me in prayer and finances.
Would please pray for me and our team as well as the people in
Lumbaqui, Cabeno and
Sinangue. Also consider partnering with our mission team with
your financial support. I want to
thank you in advance for your prayers and support that allows me
to serve God’s people in Ecuador.
In Christ’s Love,
James
Please Pray for
1. The people of Ecuador: In the towns of Lumbaqui, Cabeno, and
Sinangue.
2. Our team: For safety and unity. To be humble servants that
will shine God’s love.
3. My family: For deeper comfort and strength which over comes
fears of loss.
