Greetings!
Time really does fly, doesn’t it? What a journey it’s been thus far. With its shares of ups and downs, the one thing that has never changed in my life is God’s faithfulness and love for me. I honestly can’t believe that I’m already into my 4th year of ministry here at Harvest. As I sit here at Starbucks (my second home) while writing this letter, and I look back to my first mission trip to the Dominican Republic back in 2005, it’s a bit nostalgic. Who would’ve thunk it? That an immature 16-year-old Daniel, would one day be leading a team back down there. God really does use broken jars of clay for His renown, glory, and kingdom. It’s now my 6th trip going back down to the DR, and the 3rd trip that I have the privilege of leading and I cannot wait to go back down.
I recently had a chance to visit the Bible Museum in Washington, DC and as I walked into what look like a library room, I noticed all of these “books” of different colors on the shelves. But on one of the sides, all of the books were the same color. Shelf after shelf were these yellow books, each one representing an unreached people group that didn’t have the bible translated into their own language – millions of people who have never heard the gospel. In this moment, I couldn’t help but think, “the Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Matt. 9.37). While our time there in the Dominican Republic is short and sometimes I wonder what we can do during a timespan of 10 days, I know that the Lord is at work, and is redeeming every tribe, tongue, and nation. So I answer his calling and go. This year, I have the privilege of leading a team of 9 Harvesters, down to the Dominican Republic from June 11th-21t and while we’re there much of our work will revolve around Vacation Bible School (teaching, singing, arts & crafts), street evangelism, manual labor, leading worship, and sharing the Gospel.
The apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:3-5, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Without your partnership in the gospel, there is absolutely no way that I would be able to serve in the capacity that I am now. I am able to do the work of the Lord because of you all and for that, I am truly thankful. If you’d like to continue to financially support me and help cover some of the costs of the trip, you can partner with me online at donate.harvestkpco.org or mail checks to KPCO, 16796 Davenport Rd. Winter Garden, FL 34787, with my name written on the memo line. I know that many of you have already supported me in my journey thus far, and I am so grateful for it. I also ask that you pray for our team. If there’s one thing that we can all do, it’s to pray. Please pray for, the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit, team unity, humility as we wash the feet of those we serve, and for His glory to be made known in the Dominican Republic.
Grace and Peace,
