Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I am writing to share with you how God has been working in my life this past year. Several months ago I was in a car accident and that made me reevaluate my priorities in life. What was I working for? Is what I’m investing all my time and energy in worth it?
Over the last year I have spent more time serving our youth ministry and I’ve been blessed to see God’s love for future generations. God has grown my desire to see others personally know God and share the good news instead of keeping my faith private.
Matthew 5:14-16 says
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
I have been given an opportunity to support our church’s partnership with the Joshua Foundation in Ecuador. Our church has been sending and supporting missionaries like Pastors Samuel and Gonzalo in Ecuador and it is amazing to hear of the church being built there and of lives being changed. My church, Harvest Church, partners with the Joshua Foundation through prayer, financial giving, encouragement, and by sending short-term missions trips. This summer I will be going to Ecuador from August 3-9 to join other brothers and sisters in Christ. We will spend a couple days in Quito where we will be encouraging the church there through workshops, worship services, and caring for other tangible needs before heading to El Chaco, where we will be facilitating a retreat for leaders from four areas of the Amazon. Our aim is to strengthen ministry partnerships in the country, as well as between us and our workers, so that we can plan for more effective ministry to the unreached together in the future.
I am writing to you, the church, because you have played a role in my spiritual journey as an inspiration and motivator. The ways the people of Harvest have faithfully served one another, vulnerably shared testimonies, and given words of encouragement have been a huge blessing in my life.
Will you consider partnering with me in prayer and as God leads you, financial support? We are responsible for our vaccinations, airfare, and all in-country expenses. All contributions are tax deductible and checks can be made out to Harvest Church and mailed to 16796 E. Davenport Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787. You can also give online at www.donate.harvestkpco.org. There is a link that will take you to our Ecuador trip page. If you scroll down, you will see my name. Whether you are able to give financially or not, I would truly appreciate and value your prayers for me, our team and our time there, and our partners in Ecuador.
Thank you for showing me God’s love through how you live your life and being the blessing you are. Please pray for me and this trip and I look forward to hearing how God is working in your life.
Sincerely,
John Lee
