'ello friends,
I can't believe it's already that time again. Another year has passed with the blink of an eye. I feel like the older I get, the faster time passes by. All the while there's a greater understanding of the urgency of life - in sharing and preaching the gospel, and the brevity of my life - "What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes" (James 4:14). There's a growing sense of just wanting to get as many people to Jesus in this life that I have, until God calls me home. What a blessing and joy it is to be used by God for His Kingdom. I really do have the greatest "job" (if you can call it that) in the world! As I spend more time with our youth, God is revealing and pressing into my heart that this world needs Jesus more than ever. With each passing day, He keeps asking me, "what are you waiting for? The time is now." My heart's desire is to see every tribe, nation, and tongue declare the glory of His name. There isn't any time to waste - what the world needs more than ever before is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few - how true is this in our world today. Albeit, our time therein the DR is short and sometimes I wonder what we can do during a timespan of 10 days, but that's exactly the point. It's not about what we can do. It's about trusting in the Lord and answering God's call in the Great Commission. So we go. This year, I have the privilege of leading a team of 18 youth and college Harvesters, down to the Dominican Republic from June 19th-28th. It's amazing to be able to see the fervor and passion that this next generation has to serve the Lord and in joyfully making sacrifices so that the world may know Him. God is still at work and we get to join Him in his redemptive plan of making all things new. When we go to the Dominican Republic this year, much of our work will revolve around Vacation Bible School (teaching, singing, arts & crafts), street evangelism, manual labor, leading worship, and preaching the Gospel.
The apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:3-5, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Without your partnership in the gospel, there is absolutely no way that I would be able to serve in the capacity that I am now. I am able to do the work of the Lord because of you all and for that, I am truly thankful. If you’d like to continue to financially support me and help cover some of the costs of the trip, you can partner with me online at donate.harvestkpco.org or mail support to KPCO, 16796 Davenport Rd. Winter Garden, FL 34787, with my name written on the memo line. I know that many of you have already supported my ministry thus far, and so if you aren’t able to at this time, I ask that you pray for our team. Oh, how desperately we need it. Please pray for, the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit, team unity, humility as we wash the feet of those we serve, and for His glory to be made known in the Dominican Republic.
Grace and Peace,
dk
