My name is Semie Shin and I am currently finishing up my second
year at UCF
pursuing a degree in Graphic Design. You may also know me as a
long time server at Gochi Sushi Cafe. This Summer I will be going
with a team of 22 people from our Church, Harvest Ministry, to
the Dominican Republic to do God’s work. After many years of
delay I am finally given this opportunity to serve and be God’s
hands and feet this summer. I feel led to go to the DR to serve
in many ways such as through crafts, manual labor, and with an
open heart.
We will be there for 10 days from June 14 till June 23
serving in many different ways. We will be working with a local
church to help reach out to the community there. One of the main
ministries we will be serving through is children’s ministry in
which we teach the children through songs, crafts, and small
games about the love of Christ. We will also be having prayer and
revival ministries in which we pray and share the word to the
people there to strengthen or to begin their spiritual journey.
Another big part of missions is evangelising, or sharing the
Gospel to people who have not heard about Jesus. We will be
walking through neighboring towns and sharing with those whose
hearts are open to hear the Good News!
As we prepare to go on this trip we are calling you to be a part
of our team by
supporting us through Prayers and/or Financial partnership.
Please be praying for our team as we prepare to go to God’s
mission field, that we will be spiritually and physically ready
to do work in the Dominican Republic. Pray for our safety and
health during our time there as well as the strength to do God’s
work no matter how tiring. Also be praying for the people in the
Dominican Republic, that they may be open for God’s love and
truth to be shown to them.
I will be needing to raise about $1000 for this trip to go
towards travel, food, living and other expenses through out
