Ecuador - Summer 2014

Fundraising Completed

Ecuador 2014

Hello, Friends and family! This is Alex Pak writing to you. I hope this letter meets you at an amazing time in your life. Here's what's new in my life: I’m currently finishing up at the University of Central Florida (I have two classes left!). I also have a part-time job at my local Target (I’m the guy who cooks pizzas, pretzels, and popcorn). All in all, everything is going quite well for me. Though, the point of this letter is to inform you about a mission trip to Ecuador I will be attending with my church—the Korean Presbyterian Church of Orlando—from July 16-25. This will be my 3rd time going to Ecuador and I'm incredible excited to go back.

A couple years ago, God placed a conviction in my heart to go on summer missions with my church. Although I had this calling from God, I would constantly refuse to go. It wasn’t until three summers ago, when a group from my church went to Ecuador for missions; I decided to finally leave for Ecuador thereafter. It was on this trip, where one of my best friends, Joshua “Tico” Kim, went home to be with the Lord. While the world may see this as a tragedy, I truly believe that my friend is genuinely happy and resting eternally with our Heavenly Father. Through his life and testimony, Tico has been able to impact people everywhere, including the community of Ecuador, whom our church was able to build a strong relationship with. Compelled by Tico’s story and the convictions from God, I went to Ecuador the following summer and you know what? It was legitimately one of the greatest experiences of my life. On that trip, God blessed me immensely and placed a love for Ecuador in my heart. After coming back home from Ecuador, I committed to continue to go whenever felt convicted to. As you can see, God has convicted me to go this year.

During our time in Ecuador this year, we will reach out to remote villages in Sinangue, Cabeno, and Lumbaqui. In these areas, we will work with churches to build relationships, while providing dental and optometry services to the local people. Along with that, we will lead worship services and children’s ministry.

Please partner with me in serving the people of Ecuador. Each member of my team must raise $1,300 to cover the costs of the trip. If you would like to partner with me financially, you can make checks payable to the Korean Presbyterian Church Orlando with my name, Alex Pak, on the memo and send it to 16796 Davenport Rd, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Or, you can give online at this very site!

Most importantly, I’ll need support through prayer. Please pray for me and my team for unity, safety, and to have humble and servant hearts. Also, please pray for the people of Ecuador so that they would all come to know the powerful love of Christ. Once again, thank you in advance for all your prayers, thoughts, and financial support.
