Minsun Kim

Ecuador - Summer 2013

Fundraising Completed

Min Sun Kim

Friends,

My name is Min Sun Kim and I have committed to going to Ecuador for missions this summer (July 16-25). I will be going with seventeen others from Harvest – Korean Presbyterian Church of Orlando. This will be my first trip with my church and I’m looking forward to serving alongside my brothers and sisters.

At a recent church event, our guest speaker, Pastor Dave Choi preached on a verse in the Bible and it reads like this:

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” – John 15:9

This is Jesus speaking in one of the Gospels. Pastor Dave shared with us that we would NEVER question that God loves Jesus. I mean, that’s His son – so, of course not! Does God love me? Now, that I could question. This is exactly why Jesus explains His love to His disciples in this way: to clarify and define the Good News.

God loves Jesus. God loves His people that much as well. God loves you and me this much - regardless of our background. This is why God sent His Son – to love us deeply and call us His beloved. I am going to Ecuador because there are people there who do not know of this love, who have not accepted this love, who are not shown this love everyday, and who need to hear this.

Secondly, I am going because our church is committed to this country long-term. Last year, our church started the Joshua Project. This project provides goats to various parts of Ecuador and teaches Ecuadorians how to care and nurture for them. This project was started after we lost a Harvest brother, Joshua Kim, in this country. Joshua loved missions because God loved missions. It was terribly sad to lose him, but his legacy and bright spirit is carried on through this project. I’m excited to participate in this project to honor the life of Joshua and see the things he saw before he left this world.

So, will you partner with me? First, lift up prayers.

  • Pray for my heart to overflow with God’s love so that it may pour into the hearts of the Ecuadorians.
  • Pray for the team – our safety, our health, our boldness and our unity.
  • Pray that God’s will be done in the country of Ecuador.

If you are able, please give as well. Partner with me financially. Your support is important to the team and it will all add up. Each team member will need to raise $1,200. Please make your checks out to Korean Presbyterian Church of Orlando and in the memo line, write “Ecuador – Min Sun Kim.” You can also give here on this site.

Thanks so much for reading and your support.
