This Is Eric, and I am planning on going on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic from June 19th to the 28th.
Last summer I was able to go on my first mission trip, and experience the country and the people of the Dominican Republic. I can honestly say it was life-changing. Being able to experience the world outside of the bubble of my comfort zone was eye opening in many ways. Since then, God has been working in my heart, and as this summer inches closer, I realize how excited I am to be going back to the DR.
Every year our team travels to Los Alcarrizos and partners with a local church to serve the community. Our team holds a large bible school for kids in all the local villages to come and learn bible stories, sing songs, and create crafts. Our hope is that through our songs and activities we would be able to make an impact in these kid’s lives and spread the hope found in Christ. We also participate in door-to-door evangelism and manual labor as well. Although it can be difficult and most of us are not fluent in Spanish, we do it because we believe it is worth doing, and seeing the smiles on the kids faces just confirms that.
This year I will need to raise around $900 to make the trip to the Dominican Republic and you can partner with me to join in the mission! I would be so grateful for any support you can give either financially or through prayer. Please pray for me and my team that so that we would be unified and prepared for our time in the D.R so we could serve to the best of our abilities.
