Hi, my name is SooLin Kim and I’m a freshman at Olympia High School. Over the past couple of years, God has been incredibly faithful in my life and has been continuously working in me and through me in wonderful ways. One particular way that he’s been working in me has been through the Student Leadership Team and Harvest Youth Praise Team. It’s been such an honor to be a part of both groups and using all of whatever talents I have for His glory.
As I grow more in love with God, I’ve also been growing more in love with His people, particularly the people of the Dominican Republic. God has been growing my desire to work for His Kingdom by supporting our church’s partnership with the churches of the DR. This coming summer, a team of people from the Harvest church, including me, will be going to the DR from June 19-28. We will be doing skits, Vacation Bible Study with the children, body worship, and will be helping the churches with anything else that they may need. Our hope is that through all these things, God may really work through us and show the people of the DR what it means to have a Father who loves them and cares for them and wants them to know He is theirs and they are His.
But this beautiful hope and dream can’t be carried out by just one person. I write to you because of how faithful you have been to my life and to the many roads I have taken. This particular road in my life is one that I know I cannot take on by myself. I ask that you please help me by sending me off well and supporting me however you can.
First and most importantly, I ask that you pray for my team and I as we prepare to go out and spread His word, prayer for while we are there would be very much appreciated as well. Specific prayer requests that I must ask for are: that I may stay faithful to God and His desires for the DR, that my heart may stay full and passionate for the people there, that I may trust in Him completely through this journey in my life, and that my team and I will be able to prepare and equip each other to be more Christ-centered leaders to go and spread His Word. I know that God will do what He needs to do through us so I just ask that you pray for me as I trust Him with all I have these next few months as I prepare and go out, spreading His word.
Second, I ask that, if you can, you support me financially in any way. I am responsible for all my airfare, and all in-country expenses.
